MULTI-PURPOSE PLANE

The Multi-Purpose Plane was designed to offer several different planes in one tool. Such as: Surface Plane, Rabbet Plane - to make grooves and go into edges, Bull Nose Plane, Radial Plane and Special Planes for all types of plastic and formica. Additional functions are linoleum cutter and scraper. The greatest advantage of the Multi-Purpose Plane is that it uses special interchangeable ice hardened industrial blades - thus eliminating the need to resharpen. The plane operates at a 27 degree angle which provides a clean cut in materials like plywood, balsa, polystyrene, etc.

APPLICATIONS
To set blade: Remove wing nut & plate. Insert blade. Replace Plate with "V" groove to the rear. Adjust the table location & secure wing nut.
Surface Plane:
Set blade in center of the plane.
Radial Plane:
Place blade in rear of plane. Works for right or left handed users. CAUTION! Immediately Remove Blade After use!
Rabbet Plane:
Set blade to left or right of center depending on
groove needs.
Linoleum Cutter:
Place the blade in the front of the plane. Angle blade with outside edge as high point & opposite end flush or below plane body.
Bull Nose Plane:
Move blade and plane from center to the front of the plane to allow free movement to surface edge.
Scraper:
Extend blade out beyond plane edge. Maintain parallel edge. Using dull side of a second blade, carefully sweep it back and forth across the top of the blade 5 or 6 times under medium pressure. This action will bend the sharp edge down to facilitate its use as a scraper.
Special planes for all types of Plastic & Formica
Use a bent blade with its bent side down, in the center plane opening. Adjust and tighten wing nut. Bent edge acts as a file, thus enabling usage on formica, plexiglass, etc.
